2023-07-05 Process To report individual service line issues:

We appreciate our customers’ patience in addressing power restoration, and for the grace to not report individual service outage issues until now.

Thanks to the extensive progress that our line crews have made over the past several days in rebuilding the destroyed lines of the distribution system, power has been restored to a significant portion of the impacted areas.  This now allows us to begin fielding calls for individual service line issues.

Take note that the utility office will not be able to provide you with an estimated repair time, crew schedule, or service window at this time.  Obtaining these individual service issue reports now facilitates the speed and efficiency of restoration and is greatly appreciated.

To report individual service line issues:

  1. Please review the areas identified as restored in the “Power On” maps located at https://www.chathamil.gov/sites/default/files/PowerMap_Chatham.pdf
  2. Take note that the Utility Office is currently available for individual service line issue reports ONLY between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
  3. If your home or business is located in an area that is labeled as “On/Restored” and you remain without power, please call the Utility Office at 217-483-2451.
  4. Select option 6
  5. Be prepared to provide our utility office with the service address, your name, and the best number to contact you for additional information or follow-up.
  6. If your home or business is located in any area that is NOT labeled as “On/Restored”, we ask that you please DO NOT call at this time.  The estimated restoration areas for your neighborhood can be found at https://chathamil.gov/press-release/2023-07-01-storm-power-outage-maps. The restoration time frames remain the most recent estimates based on the extent of the damage in these areas.

The Utility Office hours for these individual service line issue reports are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.  Please do not call to report individual service line issues outside of these hours at this time.  After-hours calls are routed to our Police Dispatch and create delays in public safety response.

In the event of an emergency, always contact 9-1-1.
