Paul Scherschel



(Term 2017-2021)

Paul was elected as Village Trustee in April of 2017. Paul and his wife, Kira, have lived in Chatham since 2007, and have two wonderful children, Jonah and Josie. Paul currently serves as the Senior Gift Officer for the Prairie Heart Foundation, where he works with Prairie’s nationally recognized physicians and care providers, as well as generous partners and supporters to provide life-saving and world-class heart and vascular care in our local community. Previously, he worked at Millikin University in their Alumni and Development Office, where he oversaw millions in grants, gifts, and scholarships in support of academic programs and students getting a college education. He has also served as a Trustee and Secretary for the Ball-Chatham Educational Foundation Board of Trustees, Leadership Springfield Board Member, and a member of the Chatham Jaycees. Paul is also a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, Advisory Board, and the Sangamon Valley Estate Planning Council. Paul and his family are members of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Paul’s wife, Kira, has been a teacher in the Ball-Chatham School District since 2004 and is also a health and fitness instructor.


Paul believes, “Together, we can build on Chatham’s well-earned reputation as a wonderful place to live. We can capitalize on our great schools, vibrant neighborhoods, and successful small businesses. We can move our community forward, professionally, respectfully, and responsibly.” Paul looks forward to meeting our numerous residents and business owners around the community as we work together to make Chatham a better place to live.
