The village crews have made there last trip through the village during the allotted leaf bag pick-up time frame to ensure that all leaf bags have been picked up. The leaf bags should not be placed in the street, the gutter or over any sidewalk. Any leaf bags that are placed curb-side for pick-up after the deadline will be considered in violation of the Village of Chatham’s Nuisance ordinance code. If you failed to have the leaf bags out by the deadline you will be required call your waste hauler and follow their specific instructions concerning the pick-up of the leaf bags. Please do not attempt to deliver the leaf bags to the Village’s burn pile. Sangamon County Highway Department Announces Road Construction on CH 23 – Woodside Road and Spaulding Orchard Road Springfield – The Sangamon County Highway Department announces that construction activities will resume on CH 23, Monday, April 16, 2018 at 7:00 a.m. (weather permitting). Work will consist of widening and resurfacing Spaulding Orchard Road from approximately ¼ mile west of IL State Route 4 to Woodside Road approximately ½ mile east of Old Chatham Road. The intersection of IL state route 4 at Spaulding Orchard road will be closed from April 16, 2018 through April 20, 2018. In addition, there will be times when traffic will be reduced to a single lane controlled by flaggers during the course of the project. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes if possible, and to use extreme caution in the work zone. We anticipate completion of this work in early November of 2018.
