2019-01-11 The Village is asking for your assistance and your patience during this snow event.

A winter storm will impact Chatham and central Illinois, beginning this evening. Snowfall amounts of 6-9” will be common around the area, with the latest projections for Chatham to be in the 9“ range. The snow will begin around 5 pm this evening, and fall over an extended period of time (through Saturday night). However, the heaviest amounts are expected from late tonight into early Saturday afternoon. The Village is asking for your assistance and your patience during this event. It greatly helps us if all vehicles are removed from the streets as we plow during this event. It not only allows us to move down the streets at a faster pace but also keeps your car or truck from getting plowed in. The crews are prepared to go and will continue to work to keep the main roads passable thru the main part of the snow fall, as the snow slows down that will give us time to get to the subdivision streets. This much snow will definitely fill in the bottoms of your driveways, if you are physically unable to remove the snow from the end of your driveway we will attempt to assist residents with this. We will be taking calls for this Monday morning after 8:00 am. Thanks and be safe.
