Welcome to the Chatham Police Department. Chatham, Illinois is located next to the south west border of Springfield, Illinois. Our population has increased rapidly in recent years to just under 13,000. Chatham offers a small town feel with all the conveniences of a large town. While the population has increased the Chatham Police Department has been able to keep the crime rate low.
The Chatham Police Department is made up of 15 full time officers including the chief, a deputy chief, 2 sergeants and 11 patrol officers. The Police Department also operates a 24 hour, 7 day a week dispatch center that handles dispatching of police and other public utilities.
The Chatham Police Department is dedicated to working in partnership with the community to promote safety and enhance the quality of the lives of its citizens.
